![]() Sara runs back to her house to find a first aid kit and they quickly put Malik's bad arm in a tourniquet to stop the bleeding. Blake thinks Nick ran Malik over, but Nick denies it. Nick, Blake, and Maya return to the house in shock as Sara calls Gordon and Beth for help. He remerges from the water approaching a sunbathing Sara who immeditately becomes shocked at seeing that he is missing an arm. Soon Malik is attacked by a shark and is knocked off his board. Later while Sara is sunbathing, Nick, Maya, Blake, and Malik takes Sara's boat out to go do some wake boarding. The group soon arrives at Sara's family's lake house and proceed to make themselves at home. Sabin tells her he'll be up tomorrow and for the kids to have fun and be safe. Sabin notes she hasn't been up here in three years. Sheriff Sabin comes up and Sara remarks he lost again (they use to race their boats). The group is worried, but Sara guns the engine and drives to the house. Nick unsuccessfully tries to talk to Sara and soon they see a police boat behind them. They head to the docks on Sara's boat (the house is on a island). Sara and Dennis have an awkward reunion with Sara saying it was nice to see him again. Outside Malik and Maya have an altercation with Dennis and Red and when Sara comes out she recognizes Dennis as her ex boyfriend from years ago. It's clear that Beth knows Nick likes Sara and she is teasing her about it. When they had sex she had tanning marks all down over her body. Beth denies it saying he sprays tans everywhere, including his genitals. Sara scoffs at that, and mentions she thought Beth was after Blake. Beth mentions how cute Nick is and this would be a perfect time to "take his innocence". Sara warns the group there is no hard line and cell phones won't work at the house that they should make their calls now. The seven friends ( Sara, Nick, Malik, Maya, Beth, Gordon ,and Blake) get into Sara's SUV and drive towards their destination.Īfter what seems a day of driving, the group wind up at a local bait shop/convenience store. While Gordon and Nick (who has a crush on Sara) are in the backseat of Sara's SUV she asks them if there's room for one more, they say yes thinking she will ride along with them but she calls her dog Sherman to ride in the back with them instead. Meanwhile Sara's friend Maya calls their other friend Beth and asks her if she's ready, Beth who is at a tattoo parlor getting a new piece says yes. She leaves to go get ready to go to her family's lake house with her friends near the Louisiana bayou on the lake protrachian causeway for spring break. It is only once in awhile that there is a really nice shark movie to hit the market, "Shark Night" however, wasn't one of them.Īnd the ending of the movie, are you kidding me? Come on! I am not going to spoil it here by revealing it, but wow, that was an ending you saw coming a mile away, and it was just so anti-climatic.Sara first appears when she is at the school's gym working out. Having seen "Shark Night" now I feel very disappointed and cheated out of my time, because this movie was disappointing on so many levels. ![]() The people they had cast for the various roles actually did good jobs, and that was the main thing that "Shark Night" had working for it. The rest of the characters were nothing more than bystanders with shallow stories to contribute to the plot. Had they kept the movie in daylight it would have worked so much better.Īs for the characters in the movie, well you hardly got to immerse yourself in any of the characters, aside from Sara (played by Sara Paxton) and to some extend Dennis (played by Chris Carmack). When you sit down to watch movies you don't want to be kept in the dark and have little chance to see what's going on. Most of the movie was shot at night with little or no lighting at all, and you couldn't really see what was going on at times. That whole "oh-you-hurt-me-years-ago-and-now-it-is-payback-time" plot didn't work at all! It was ludicrous and it really made the movie bad.Īnother thing that the movie had working against it was the darkness. The whole plot was just so far-fetched that it didn't even come off remotely plausible. ![]() "Shark Night" is without a doubt one of the stupidest story lines I have ever seen in a shark movie. ![]() His movie started out so great, it had that whole "Jaws"-theme going on, and it really looked like it was going to be a movie that would pay homage to the classic "Jaws" movies, then it all came crashing down hard and went downhill. ![]()
